Meet Our Team

DVM
Dr. Mozdzierz joined Hillchester Animal Hospital in 2014. She is a 2005 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a small animal internship in surgery and medicine at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center in Albuquerque, NM. She has practiced in New York, Washington, D.C. and Chicago before settling in the area with her husband and two children.

Dr. Mozdzierz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Her passion is preventative medicine, feline medicine and behavior and Internal Medicine.

In July 2020, Dr. Mozdzierz and her family welcomed a rescue kitty into their home. He charmed them with his mischievous ways and his daring acrobatics. He is best known for his incredibly fluffy tail, his belief that nail trims are a threat that must be fought against at all costs and for constantly batting his favorite toy under the basement door and meowing for someone to retrieve it.

In her free time, Dr. Mozdzierz enjoys spending family time together watching movies, hiking, exploring nature trails, and more recently has taken up baking and cake decorating. She loves music, comedies, Disney movies and Harry Potter. Her most recent memorable vacation was climbing mountains in South Dakota at Badlands and Custer Park.

Her favorite line from a poem is Walt Whitman’s, “Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself. (I am large, I contain multitudes.)”

Hospital Manager/Technician
Tatiana joined the Hillchester team in August 2022. Although new to Hillchester Animal Hospital, she is not new to the veterinary field. Tatiana always knew she wanted to work with animals in some capacity.

Tatiana has been in this industry since 2013 starting as a technician; and then grew her skills and went on to become a surgery technician from 2015-2022. She decided to grow even more and decided to become a hospital manager!

Her favorite part of joining this team is that everyone has such a positive energy and attitude. Everyone is a team player – and that’s how it should be!

She has 2 cats – and will get a dog soon once her family gets a house.

Outside of work she likes to spend time with her husband and 2 daughters – playing outside, being goofy, reading books, watching movies, bingeing TV shows and playing video games.

Veterinary Technician
Jessie is a Veterinary Technician that graduated from Moraine Valley Veterinary Assistant program in 2018 and quickly trained to be an OTJ technician at VCA Animal Hospital and continued to work at various animal hospitals including emergency, private practice and corporate.

Jessie is fear free certified and is continuing her education to get her Veterinary Technician license. She excels in phlebotomy, dental cleanings and felines.

Jessie loves helping less fortunate animals and is the first to volunteer to help with exotics, farm animals, stray pets and wild animals.

Jessie has 4 pets of her own that she adores. She has 2 dogs named Samson & Kuma. A friendship you would never expect between an Akita and a Bulldog. She also has 2 cats Finn & Willow. Willow has chosen Jessie as her person and never leaves her side and Finn lives to eat and if you do not have food, you are not worth his time. Willow loves to knock over her treat bin and leave presents on Jessie’s bed while she is out.

In her free time Jessie loves hiking, horror collectable hunting, concerts and finding new vegan recipes. She loves spending a lot of time outdoors and exploring. Jessie is a huge believer in Halloween being all year long.

Jessie is extremely passionate about her career in animal care and will do anything to help any animal she comes across.

“It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.” -Joaquin Phoenix

Rachel joined the Hillchester Animal Hospital team in June of 2021. Rachel started working with animals in 2018 as a kennel attendant/ vet assistant.

Rachel has always had a passion for animals. She began volunteering at animal shelters when she was 14 years old. Her favorite part of the field is seeing all the sick patients make a speedy recovery. She loves being their cheerleader!

She grew up with dogs all her life; along with cats and birds too! Currently Rachel has 5 rescue dogs, ranging in ages 3 years to 16 years old! (Also sizes range 4lbs to 90lbs!)

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys game night with her family, basketball games, and shopping!

Reception/Tech Assistant
Andrew joined our team in the middle of October, 2022. He has an extensive background in various areas of customer service. This is his first time working in an Animal Hospital and he is very excited to try his hand at helping pets as best as he can.

Andrew considers himself a “dog person” but loves all pets. In his lifetime he has owned 3 dogs and 3 cats. Currently he has a West Highland Terrier named Piper, and 2 rescue animals named Dunkin and Aggie. Dunkin is an American Foxhound who came from Mississippi, and Aggie is a Domestic Shorthair who was once a stray cat. His childhood dog Mandy chose him as her person and every moment that he was at home, she was right by his side. She passed away in 2018 of old age, but it makes him feel better knowing she lived a long and happy life.

In Andrew’s free time he enjoys watching baseball, playing video games, going to concerts and watching Horror movies. Similar to Jessie, Andrew believes Halloween is more of a lifestyle rather than just a holiday.

Reception/ Tech Assistant
Our company is glad to introduce one of our front desk receptionists, Ashley N Silva; she has been with the company since Sep of 2022. Reasonably new to the office and the vet world, but has been in the customer service industry for quite some time.

Her love for pets started at a young age, and has never let up. She has owned dogs, chameleons, bearded dragons, two saltwater fish tanks; which, by the way, puffer fishes are the best…Two African gray parrots, and one mini Macaw. Her favorite dear to the heart, had to be her dog of 15 years. Cash had passed on due to cancer.

They are wrong when they say a dog is a man’s best friend. A dog is a Woman’s best friend. Ashley does feel like this industry is right up her alley, and the company/office she is a part of is the best fit for her. She enjoys her co-workers and clients/patients. There is never a dull moment at Hillchester. You know what they say – if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.
